We integrate public health research, community services, and collaborations with government agencies and community- based organizations to reduce health inequalities and promote optimal health among Mississippians.
Our work is critical. Improving health saves lives, reduces medical costs, prevent diseases, move people toward self sufficiency and improves community well-being.

Our vision is to provide opportunities for better health. We improve health among Mississippi's most vulnerable neighborhoods by tackling social and physical factors that impacts Mississippians' ability to THRIVE.
Meet Our CEO
Dr. Kia Monique Jones is a public health professional and trailblazer born and raised in Jackson, MS. Miss Jones is a product of Jackson Public Schools. She is a graduate of Provine High School and Jackson State University where she earned a degree in Biology with an emphasis of Pre-medicine. She then continued her educational advancement at Belhaven University, obtaining a Master of Public Administration. Dr. Jones received her Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) degree with a concentration in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at CEPH-Accredited School of Public Health at Jackson State University. Her career goal is to develop multidisciplinary and collaborative strategies for solving health-related problems and increase emphasis on disease prevention and wellness promotion.
Her research interests are cardiovascular health, health disparities, infectious diseases, and cancer epidemiology including the development and evaluation of biomedical and behavioral interventions to prevent chronic diseases. Dedicating her life to improving the lives of others is very appealing to her. She is also being challenged to utilize her skills in networking, analysis and research methods. Along this journey, she wants to consume knowledge and greater her abilities so that she may be an asset to diverse communities through public service.
Her research efforts also includes identifying scientifically proven, cost-effective, and scalable interventions and prevention strategies to be implemented as part of a high-impact prevention approach for maximal impact on health disparities in the African American community. She would like to identify and address care gaps within the patient population, especially in communities with chronic illnesses and diseases. Her current and future plans are to secure funding of a large multi-year intervention trial to address barriers to patient education, physician referral, and systems of care that impede communication between inpatient and outpatient healthcare settings. Dr. Jones is committed to creating a dynamic, highly productive and values-based organization.
